The project I am working on for my M.S. comprehensive evaluation:
FlexGIS allows end-users to perform basic geospatial analysis, without having to be familiar with standard GIS tools. The interface uses familiar window and menu-driven components to expose analytical tasks in an intuitive manner.
It gives developers full programmatic control over the graphical interface, layer representation, and data retrieval, essentially providing a full featured GIS schema with the added flexibility of Adobe Flex interface development, while remaining focused on consumer usability.
The main priority of this project is usability, for both developers and users. Developers should be able to quickly deploy FlexGIS for their system, and users should be able to pick it up and use it with a minimal amount of time.
